Exciting Literature Festival Competitions

This is your opportunity to become a published writer! The Emirates Airline International Festival of Literature is looking for entries for 2 competitions - poetry and story writing. Winners will receive a prize and have their work published in a book. Entries can be in either English or Arabic.

The theme for the Taalleem Poetry Competition is Who am I, who are you? Entries should be no more than 32 lines long, entirely your own work and submitted on the official entry form no later than 12 December 2011.

Poetry not your thing? Try the writing competition. For students aged 15 - 18 you should write no more than 1500 words on the subject of The Open Door. Entries should be submitted no later than 12 December 2011 on the official entry form.

What was Ms. Lara up to last night?

Ms. Lara and Mrs. Margaret had the opportunity to attend the launch of the 2012 Emirates Festival of Literature held at the brand new House of Literature in historic Bastikiya last night. Attended by many well-known lovers of literature both Emirati and expat, the evening promised an exciting programme of events to come over the next few months leading to the Emirates Festival of Literature to be held from March 6 - 12th 2012. ATHS Dubai plans to play its part in this festival. Watch this space for more details!
